More like sale of the century! Check this out!


Yes, I have completely lost my mind! Actually I am going out of state for a week and won't have much computer access, and wanted to make it up to everyone by having a big blowout sale! Everything in my store at Scrap Happiness is $1 except for my Overlay Grab Bag which is on sale for $5! So stock up while you can! Also included in this $1 sale is my newest kit which I am in love with, called "Once Upon A Dream" ..

Of course this was inspired by "Sleeping Beauty", which is the movie of the moment in my world thanks to the little ones I Nanny for :P I think we watch that movie at least every day and they never get sick of it .. and the oldest one (who is 3) always has an interesting comment about it .. take the other days conversation for example .. btw, I should state that the girls call me "Pickle" . .the baby can't say "Nicole" so she started calling me "Pickle", and it stuck. Anyway, the conversation went like this ..

(During the scene where Prince Phillip is fighting Maleficent and her "ghoulies")

T: Pickle, where is Briar Rose?
Me: She's asleep in the tower ..
T: No Pickle, that's Sleeping Beauty!
Me: Right .. Sleeping Beauty is Briar Rose, and Princess Aurora .. they're all the same person.
T: Oh .. So where is Sleeping Beauty?
Me: *sigh* Sleeping I guess?
T: *looking at me like I'm a moron* Not with all that noise!

I laughed so hard at that one .. kids these days, too smart for their own good!

Just A Quickie

I've only got a few minutes before I have to go pick up the girls from school, so I figured I would post and give you all a fall treat.

Now I know what you're thinking .. girls? School? But MamaCat, despite your Mom-ish name, you don't have kids! And yes, you are correct, I do not have children of my own yet (we're trying, we're trying!) However, a few weeks ago I decided to finally leave my job managing the video game store of doom! It was severely stressing me out and just wasn't worth it. The very next day I recieved a call from my old boss begging me to come back and Nanny for her two children that I had taken care of for nearly a year before having to go out of state for a while for personal reasons. I agreed, and got a nice pay raise and way less hours of work to boot! Can't beat that!

And someday, I shall tell you how I got the nickname "MamaCat" despite not being a mom, or having cats!

Anyway, the freebie I have to offer you today was part of the September collaboration for the now defunct Berry Bliss Scrapz Store. It is a tagger sized kit with just a few odds and ends in it, but I think it came out very cute! And please be kind, this was my first time doing a taggers kit and I wasn't really sure on sizes or anything .. but you can't really complain, it's FREE! :P

One last thing I'd like to say ..These past few days I have seen some designer nastiness really shine through and it breaks my heart. Always remember there is a LIVING BREATHING FEELING person on the other side of that screen .. and if you can't say anything nice .. come sit by me! Ok just kidding on that last part. But seriously, I think a lot of times people hide behind the computer screen and use it as a means to lie, cheat, steal, and hurt, and just as it's not ok to do in real life, it's not ok to do here and I hate to see some of my dearest scrapping friends be hurt, so please .. be kind, rewind.

SHMILY

During Hubbles forever long AIT, we were stationed at Fort Gordon, GA, where I had the pleasure of meeting someone who would become one of my very best friends .. more like a sister really. This friend was an amazing woman, wife, mother, sister, and friend, and inspired me to be more than I was. She was always there with a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, an encouraging word, or a good laugh, and she always knew just what to say and when to say it, or when to say nothing at all and just let the silence say it. And most importantly, she lead me closer in my walk with God, and taught me immesurable things.

One of the sweetest things she taught me was the story of "Shmily". She and her dear husband are a fairytale love story .. they constantly cherished and doted on one another, even when life made it difficult to do so. There was always a word they used around each other, "Shmily". This word was completely foreign to me and our other friends and we would beg this friend to tell us what "Shmily" went. She would smile that sassy smile of hers and say "someday I'll tell you."

Before we left Fort Gordon and all went our separate ways in life, she gave me a copy of the story of "Shmily", and it was the most incredible and inspiring story I had ever read, which was fitting as she is one of the most incredible and inspiring people I have been lucky enough to call my friend.

Stace, I miss you like crazy sister and I know that although we are far apart in miles, we are forever close in heart and God will see fit to cross our paths again. Hope I did this story justice for ya .. now all ya have to do is learn how to digi-scrap ;)

A Little Sparkle

See, told ya I'd be back soon! Thanks for all the wonderful comments on "Little Witches", I am so glad you enjoyed it and can't wait to see what you use them in! :) I also see some of you meandered over to my stores and picked up some goodies that have yet to be revealed, so THANK YOU! :D

Today I have another new product for you, and it's a Commercial Use product! For those that loved my Paper Bag Pieces, I used the same shapes, but put a little sparkle into them ;) So now you get "Glitter Goodies", 16 shapes in greyscale glitter format just waiting to be recolored for all of your kits and pages! The Boo Crew!

Holy COW it has been WAY too long since I've updated and I sincerely apologize! This time of the year is when everything gets hectic for me .. I get into the cooking/cleaning/crafting mode big time (ok maybe not so much cleaning), work picks up majorly with the holidays approaching, and on top of that we have an upcoming deployment looming which means trying to get everything organized and up to date for that so it goes relatively smoothly and entertaining a revolving door of relatives coming to say goodbye, and going to see the ones that can't make it here! Whew, I'm tired just talking about it, and I'm sure you're tired of reading about it, so ON to the goodies!

I released a new kit about 2 weeks ago now (Wow, was it that long already?!?!) that I fully intended on showing off, but .. well, see above :P Anyway quite a few of you have found it on your own since it's been selling very well already, thanks largely to my wonderful CT Team! It's a Halloween themed kit with adorable felt trick-or-treaters, 12 papers, and over 35 elements called "The Boo Crew", and you can snag it at Scrap Happiness on sale until Halloween for $3!
